On Thursday 29th January, we were thrilled to welcome poet Luke Wright to de Stafford School. Year 8 and Year 10 students had the fantastic opportunity to hear him perform a selection of his work, including pieces from his newly published book, "Later Life Letter". Luke’s blend of humour, honesty, and emotional depth captivated the room, making poetry feel vibrant, relevant, and alive. A truly inspiring visit for our young writers! 📚🖋

✨What a taste‑tingling day we had yesterday! Our students put their foodie hats on and took part in a very delicious mission — taste‑testing new soup options for our school menu! They sampled a fantastic line‑up: 🍅 Tomato Soup 🧀 Broccoli & Cheese 🔥 Spiced Butternut 🍜 Chicken Noodle 🥕 Chunky Vegetable It was brilliant to see so many students getting involved, trying new flavours, and discovering unexpected favourites! 🙌🏆

Our Year 9 students were honoured to hear from Lesley at Generation 2 Generation this morning. Her powerful family story brought this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day theme, Bridging Generations, to life — helping students connect with and learn from the experiences of Holocaust survivors. Today, we remember the six million Jewish people and the millions of others who lost their lives, and we reflect on the importance of building a kinder, more tolerant future. Thank you to Lesley and Generation 2 Generation for such an inspiring and meaningful assembly. #holocaustmemorial #BridgingGenerations
