GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Feeder Schools & Transition

Feeder School Engagement

We work closely with our local primary schools to ensure a smooth and positive transition to secondary education. Our engagement includes:

  • Masterclass sessions at de Stafford and in feeder schools, giving younger students a taste of secondary learning.
  • Sports festivals and primary school competitions hosted at de Stafford, helping to build confidence and excitement about joining our community.

Transition Days (July)

Students allocated a place at de Stafford are invited to two dedicated transition days in July. These days provide the perfect opportunity to make new friends, get to know the school and staff, and start building a sense of belonging.

Summer School

Our optional summer school days allow students to return to de Stafford during the early part of the summer, further developing the bonds formed in July and helping everyone feel ready for September.

Orientation Days (September)

Year 7 students return to school before their peers, giving them the chance to settle in, find their way around, and start their secondary journey with confidence—all in their new uniform, as a united year group.
