RECORD RESULTS FOR DE STAFFORD STUDENTS!
Students at de Stafford are again celebrating their GCSE results and the school is delighted that the 2026 results have opened doors for them to access the next stages of the educational journeys.
Headteacher, Jeff Place, said: “These outcomes do not happen by accident and are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students as well as the excellent support and guidance provided by staff and parents. The fact that most de Stafford students leave us with such positive outcomes reflects the strong academic progress they have made in their time here. However, this year group also contributed so much to the school community, and we are just as proud of the way in which they have developed into highly aspirational and confident young adults, comfortable of their place in society and the positive contribution they can make to it.”
Students achieved success across the full range of subjects with the largest proportion ever at the school achieving the crucial benchmarks of grade 4 or better and grade 7 or better in their English and Maths exams. These successes were also matched by excellent performance in a wide range of subjects including Drama, Citizenship, Health & Social Care, and Media Studies.
The percentage of top grades awarded to de Stafford students continues to be a strength of the school with nearly one in six of all grades awarded being the top grades of 7s, 8s, and 9s. Imogen Dolling, Leo Maynard, Elena Kielkiewicz, Kacie Anders, and Amy Bermingham all achieved over eight grades at this very highest level with Imogen’s results including eight grade 9s (awarded to only a very small percentage of students nationally in each subject area) whilst also maintaining her training schedule as a nationally recognised swimmer.
Whilst rightly celebrating the fantastic achievements of the high attainers, the school is delighted with the progress made by students from a range of different academic starting points. Several students achieved grades well above what might have been expected of them had it not been for the hard work, collaboration, and support of the students themselves but also the invaluable staff body and there were significant positives in the performance of individuals and groups of students including those in receipt of the Pupil Premium and those with Special Educational Needs.
We wish all the students the very best in their next stage of their journey whether at our partner colleges of Reigate and East Surrey or at alternative establishments such as Caterham School and the BRIT School.
