School Standards Board (SSB)

As part of the GLF Schools multi academy trust, de Stafford School is able to benefit from the support and opportunities that are offered by the Trust.  Being part of the Trust allows us to work within a governance structure which is different from a traditional Governing Body model and from September 2017, our local governance body is now a School Standards Board (SSB).  Our SSB meets once per half term and provides the local governance function for de Stafford which fits within the overall governance structure of GLF Schools.

Further information and documents pertaining to governance at GLF Schools can be found here.

Please click here to view the GLF Schools Register of Interests.

The three core functions of governance are:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  2. Holding leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management, including well-being, of staff
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

The SSB continues to have parent representatives and representatives from the local community, together with our Head of School, Mr Place and our Executive Headteacher, Mr Garner. It remains important that our SSB comprises the right people with the right skills to make appropriate and informed decisions for the school, taking into account the views of students, staff, parents and the local community.

The SSB can be contacted through the Clerk to the SSB, Sarah Morgan, via email: s.morgan@glfschools.org

To contact the Chair of the School Standards Board, please email Cathy Emmott at cemmott1@glfschools.org or write to her at de Stafford School, Burntwood Lane, Caterham, Surrey, CR3 5YX
