Introduction

As Chair of de Stafford’s Governing Body, I’d like to introduce you to our Governors and to let you know what our roles and responsibilities are. 

We have three core functions:

  • To set the strategic direction of the school
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance and the care of the students
  • And to ensure financial health, probity and value for money.

We are a dedicated team of volunteers made up of staff, parents, local people, and people nominated by the Local Authority who bring with us a strong and varied skill set, including expertise in primary and secondary education, finance, accounting, health & safety, human resources, and property management.  We are committed to raising standards of achievement and ensuring every student at de Stafford receives a high quality education.
