Tony Middleton joins the School Strategy Board

de Stafford School are delighted to welcome Tony Middleton as their recently appointed Parent Member of the School Strategy Board (SSB). 

Tony has enjoyed a 34-year career in both the private and public sectors, with the last 20 in senior management and Director positions. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of a Local Enterprise Partnership and also leads their two major investment funds. He is also the lead for two major regional economic priorities and has extensive experience in business, governance and career pathways and working with start up business operations. Tony also holds non-executive directorships for two medium sized trading companies and chairs their Audit and Health and Safety Committees.

His specialist interest is in company governance and he has advised extensively on this subject throughout his career, having been a director previously for the large global insurance company AIG ; leading Europe, Middle East, African and Indian facilities operations. Tony has previously worked in the area of higher education, as a Director at the University of Sussex, running a range of support service operations.

Tony brings with him a wealth of experience and is enthusiastically looking forward to supporting the SSB and school Senior Leadership Team. As a former student of de Stafford, he believes that his time at the school gave him the confidence and support to embark on his career path and is keen to ensure the school continues its excellent track record in supporting pathways to into work.
